What’s New: 2022 Lincoln Navigator Near New Orlean

What's in store for the future of Lincoln's flagship vehicle? A refreshed version of the fourth generation 2022 Lincoln Navigator near New Orleans LA was recently seen via spy shots in Dearborn, Michigan.

The current Lincoln Navigator was introduced as an all-new model for 2018, and is now due for a mid-cycle refresh which is obviously underway, since the 2022 prototype was just discovered in heavy disguise. The model was covered in especially heavy camouflage around the front and rear of the SUV, along with concealments to hide the interior. Presumably, the forthcoming model will get a handful of updates, which will likely include front and rear styling tweaks as well as a larger grille, keeping with current trends.

The headlights seem to wrap further around the fenders, and although the lower front fascia is well hidden, we believe it may take design cues from the attractive midsize Lincoln Aviator. Most likely the updates to the rear of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator near New Orleans LA will mimic the smaller model as well. The size of the current light bar that stretches across the back will probably decrease, and the corner lenses may be pulled toward the back quarter panels. The step below the rear hatch will stay, and the lower rear fascia will probably receive minor changes, if any.

2022 Lincoln Navigator near New Orleans LA Interior Updates

Although there's little information on updates inside the cabin or what new technology may be in store for the future model, we expect improvements by way of a larger center touchscreen and slight changes to the dashboard. The current Lincoln Navigator provides a 10-inch screen, which seems very small by today's standards, (in comparison, the rival Cadillac Escalade has much bigger screens available) and more controls will be transferred to the infotainment system for a cleaner look.

Powertrain

In addition, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator near New Orleans LA will likely receive some changes to its powertrain offerings, which should deliver some gains in power as well as efficiency. A 3.5-liter PowerBoost V6 hybrid is expected to be an option, but it's uncertain whether the Pro Power Onboard external generator will be included. Of course the existing twin turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 will return, but with a bit more power. The current engine puts out 450 horsepower with 510 lb-ft of torque, but the new one supposedly generates 20 hp more. The very responsive 10-speed automatic transmission will also return. Both models will also continue to offer rear- wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations.

Space

The fourth-gen 2022 Lincoln Navigator near New Orleans LA will still be offered in short wheelbase and the longer wheelbase Lincoln Navigator L. It's noteworthy to mention that passenger space is the same in both the regular and L models; the difference is the amount of cargo space behind the third row. No matter which row or which type of second row seats (captain's chairs or bench), you'll get more than 40 inches of legroom and enough space for even tall adults. This includes the very back row, which is roomier and more comfortable than any other brands' third row, including crossovers, minivans, and other full-size SUVs.  The Lincoln Navigator L's extra 11.9 inches of overall length adds an extra 15 cubic feet of cargo space, which is the equivalent of a sedan's trunk.

A full reveal of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator is apt to be months or even a year away, but until then, you can discover all the luxurious bliss of the current 2020 and 2021 models at Baldwin Lincoln, 1730 N. Highway 190 in Covington.
