Infiniti Qx50 Near New Orleans Vs Lincoln Corsair

With its new and innovative engine, the Infiniti QX50 near New Orleans LA is a luxury crossover that aims to deliver on-demand power while keeping hybrid-like fuel economy. Is it a better choice than the Lincoln Corsair?

Both the Infiniti QX50 and the Lincoln Corsair are compact crossovers designed with seating for up to five people. They both have turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, they look similar, and they both offer a choice between front- and all-wheel drive. Option packages differ, but much of the same types of safety and luxury features are available as well.

ENGINES

The Infiniti QX50 near New Orleans LA gets its power from a ground-breaking, advanced variable-compression engine, which is exclusive to Infiniti in this class. This engine is a 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out 268 hp, and is made to automatically modify its compression ratio for the best power when you need it, or the best fuel economy. This nearly provides the QX50 with a win-win situation, producing plenty of power with additional fuel economy, but regrettably the fuel ratings are only average with 22 city, 28 highway, and 25 combined.

The Lincoln Corsair offers a choice of two engines: a 2.0 liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder that delivers 250 hp or a slightly larger 2.3 liter that produces 295 hp. The smaller Lincoln motor gets about the same fuel economy as the Infiniti, but with a better rating on highway driving (29 mpg). The 2.3 L motor gets only slightly less miles per gallon. As for power, the base engine takes 7.3 seconds to go 0-60 mph, and the bigger engine does it in 6.5 seconds. In comparison the much hyped VC engine in the QX50 needs 7.1 seconds to get from 0 to 60 mph. Clearly, this motor doesn't live up to the hype.
And what's more, the Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring trim will get a Plug-In Hybrid version for 2021, whereas the Infiniti has no plans for hybrid, EV, or PHEV variants of the QX50 in the near future.

INFINITI QX50 NEAR NEW ORLEANS LA: SAFETY

In recent years, the Lincoln brand has gone through a rebirth of sorts, and the Lincoln Corsair is one of the new hotshots in the lineup. It was a brand-new model for 2020, and is a luxurious and good-looking replacement for the outgoing Lincoln MKC. All models come standard with Lincoln's Co-Pilot360 collection of driver assist features which includes forward-collision warning, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and a blind-spot info system with cross-traffic alert. Higher trims are equipped with the Co-Pilot 360 Plus, which has even more safety features.

In comparison, the Infiniti QX50 near New Orleans LA comes standard with a host of driver assist and safety features as well. However, if you want lane keeping assist and cross-traffic alert you'll have to pay extra, because they're not included.

INTERIOR

Both interiors are attractive and made with quality materials, although the QX50 has some cheap looking plastics included. The Lincoln Corsair offers more standard features, even on the base trim, including a WiFI hotspot, heated front seats, remote engine start, driver's seat memory, and more. These features aren't even available for the base trim of the Infiniti QX50 near New Orleans. There are also many other features that are options for the base Lincoln Corsair, but aren't available on the base QX50.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS

Lincoln is making huge strides in producing world-class products and it definitely shows in the Lincoln Corsair. It's beautiful on the outside and inside, is spacious, and offers everything you could want in a luxury compact crossover. And wait! Did we mention the Lincoln Corsair is priced about $2000 less than the QX50? On top of that, the Infiniti is in desperate need of a redesign and the super-advanced, new-fangled engine just doesn't impress like it should. It all boils down to this: the Lincoln Corsair is simply the better choice.
