2020 Mercedes Gls Vs 2020 Lincoln Navigator

Luxury three-row SUVs

Luxury three-row SUVs have become more and more popular in recent years. With its stunning design, roomy capacity and excellent practicality, it’s no wonder more families are choosing to indulge in cars such as the 2020 Mercedes GLS in Covington LA and the 2020 Lincoln Navigator.

Despite having different concepts of luxury, there’s no doubt both vehicles are among the best when it comes to "high-end meets functionality." While the Mercedes GLS has always been known to be a model of richness and comfort, the Lincoln Navigator paved the way to change what is expected of American luxury vehicles. Now that the latest models from both luxury manufacturers are here, which one will consumers choose?

Powertrain

The largest SUV offering from Lincoln surpasses its Mercedes counterpart when it comes to the powertrain. The Lincoln Navigator is equipped with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. There’s no denying this ride can deliver power and urgency when necessary. It also has a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission with precise shifting gears. With the Mercedes GLS, you get a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six that delivers 3632 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Also available is a 48-volt electrical system and an output-enhancing electrical system which are both tied to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior

From afar, both SUVs seem to have similar looks. However, the new Lincoln Navigator outshines the GLS thanks to its eye-catching, dominating style. The Lincoln Navigator has a large grille with extensive headlights that contrasts the smaller front end of the Mercedes GLS.

LED daytime running lights are present in both vehicles, with a slight bit more chrome in the GLS than in the Lincoln Navigator. On the back, you can find a single broad brake light on the Lincoln Navigator, which spans the width of the vehicle. This design gives the following vehicles extra visibility, especially in poor lighting. On the other hand, the Mercedes SUV sports a more conventional design that does not stand out from the competition.

Interior

As for the inside, the Lincoln Navigator offers a spacious interior in all three rows, unlike the somewhat cramped Mercedes.

Technology

The latest tech in the 2020 Lincoln Navigator is nothing short of incredible. Apart from a new standard feature which includes power running boards, heated and ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charging pad, the Lincoln Navigator also comes with driver-assistance technologies that will now be bundled in with the Co-Pilot360 package. This active-safety technology is an all-encompassing package that includes automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and more.

The 2020 Lincoln Navigator also comes with a feature that lets you unlock the vehicle with a cell phone. This technology is not available in the 2020 Mercedes GLS.
