Infiniti QX60 Near New Orleans vs. Lincoln Aviator

The 2019 INFINITI QX60 near New Orleans, LA continues to ride on its platform of practical luxury, but will this formula work against the 2020 Lincoln Aviator? Find out the answer in this head-to-head battle between two luxury SUVs.

SAFETY COMPARISON

The 2019 INFINITI QX60 performs well in crash tests but came up short in some areas. The IIHS awarded the QX60 an "Acceptable" rating for its passenger-side small overlap crash protection, so if you plan to use this SUV to transport children, this rating might make you think twice.

Worse yet, the QX60 received a dismal "Poor" score for its headlights. This completely disqualifies it from achieving the top-level Top Safety Pick designation, a feat achieved by several Lincoln cars such as the Continental and the MKT.

From the buyer's side, you should prepare yourself to spend much more if you'd like advanced safety features in your INFINITI. Base models are packed with blind spot monitors, making up for the poor outward vision on this large SUV. Otherwise, essential features such as adaptive cruise control, active lane control, and lane departure warnings - usually standard on luxury cars - will considerably inflate the price tag.

In contrast, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator puts pushes to the forefront by introducing Suspension Preview Technology. This feature adds a camera to help spot changing road conditions like potholes to prepare the suspension for the impending impact.

Every Aviator will hit the market with Lincoln Co-Pilot 360. Unlike the INFINITI QX60, Lincoln makes advanced safety features standard.

PASSENGER SPACE COMPARISON

Third-row space is good measurement of cabin space in large SUVs like the Aviator and the QX60. Reviews are in for the INFINITI QX60, and several experts pointed out an uncomfortably cramped third row. Fortunately, even someone standing at six feet tall can sit comfortably in the Aviator's third row.

While the QX60's cabin does feel luxurious, there a few major features missing from it. For instance, there is no smartphone integration, so say goodbye to using your favorite apps on the road. The design tends to be cluttered as well.

Following the small third row, the cargo space is limited as well. This is a potential deal breaker for buyers looking forward to hauling gear and equipment in their SUVs.

If you're looking for technology, you'll find plenty in the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Foremost is the Phone as Key feature, which turns your smartphone into a key. Also included is the ability to stay connected with in-vehicle Wi-Fi.

In terms of comfort, the Aviator seeks to indulge. Expanded massage patterns have been added to the 30-way Perfect Position seats. Enjoy heated and cooled seats as well. The second row has tilt-and-fold functionality on both sides, making it effortless to access the back row. Very few SUVs have this convenient feature.

RELIABILITY COMPARISON

INFINITI is ranked 22nd out of all 32 car brands. It also has a history of lower than average reliability. Back in 2014, Consumer Reports graded INFINITI as one of the least reliable luxury cars at 127% less reliable than the average vehicle. There have also been two recalls on the QX60's label-mate, the Q50.

Lincoln cars turn into some of the most reliable used cars out there. You can still purchase a 2015 Lincoln that drives like new with very few issues.  As one of Lincoln's most advanced models, the 2020 Aviator is definitely built to last. Finally, driver support apps like Standard Pickup and Delivery make it easy to arrange vehicle servicing and maintenance to keep the Aviator in top condition in spite of busy schedules.

ENGINE COMPARISON

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is set to be mightier than many supercars on the road today. Two powertrain options are available - a twin-turbo V6 and a hybrid system designed to increase the output of the turbo engine.

On the INFINITI QX60, off-road driving is not an option. The powertrain is starting to age as well, and the rear end could use a lift. If you're fine with settling for average performance, the INFINITI QX60 will do. Otherwise, the 2020 Aviator offers much more sophistication and powerful performance.

The 2019 INFINITI QX60 near New Orleans, LA is a decent SUV that's hard to fault, however, it's just not in the same league as the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. Brimming with style and power, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is what a real luxury SUV should be. Click to request more information on the 2020 Lincoln Aviator or if you have questions about financing.
